THIS ENDING: New Album Title Announced
March 20, 2008THIS ENDING, the Stockholm, Sweden-based band formerly known as THE PLAGUE (before they were forced to change their name for legal reasons),has issued the following update:
"We are proud to announce the title of the second THIS ENDING album: 'Dead Harvest'. We have returned once again to Offbeat Studio with our very own Linus Nirbrant at the controls. The drums have been recorded and we'll be showing you some footage of Fredrik hammering away soon, as well as the other parts of recording later.
"The album will contain ten tracks and is slated for release in late 2008. Some songtitles that will appear on the album are: 'Dead Harvest', 'Parasites', 'Tools Of Demise' and 'Deathtrade'.
"In other news THIS ENDING also did its live show premier Friday March 14 in Stockholm, Sweden. A very successful gig where two new songs, 'Parasites' and 'Deathtrade', were tried out live. Both old and new songs were very well recieved by the crowd."
THIS ENDING's debut album, "Inside the Machine", was released in Europe in December 2006 via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded at Offbeat studio in Stockholm with producer Linus Nirbrant. Mastering was done by Peter in de Betou at Tailor Maid.
According to a press release, "The music of THIS ENDING embodies the qualities of technical death/thrash and the catchiness of melodic death metal! A combination that is refreshing to the genre yet still brutal and dark enough to scare your parents. Ushering in a new era of Swedish death metal, THIS ENDING is brutality and darkness, yet melodic and catchy. 'Inside the Machine' features 10 tracks of non stop violence with astonishing musicianship and a new approach to songwriting that leaves you wanting more."
Formed in 2005, THIS ENDING existed in a previous incarnation as A CANOROUS QUINTET. After several years of absence from the metal scene the guys decided that the time was right for a new era. Members of the band are/have been active in the following acts: AMON AMARTH, GUIDANCE OF SIN, NIDEN DIV. 187 and SINS OF OMISSION, among others.
